1. ok so the song dave comes on stage to in:

2. I was driving to school this morning listening to the president’s press conference (because i am an info junkie and the best way to arm yourself is to know the lies your foe is telling) and I was thinking wow I wonder what his supporters ae thinking while listening to this? because I am running a versus commentary of:
   bullshit, liar, really is that the texas version of charm?,
   and last but not least; what the hell is going on in his head. I really just happened on it because it was on npr see item 3. But alas my revelation, or quandry, or whatever you wanna call it; is he(bush) the answer to 8 years of hope and progress? Let’s lock this shit down and make sure we can keep our shit. I mean Clinton can’t be called perfect but the most honest indictment of him is he tried to do too much. Tried to help too many, wasn’t focused enough on select issues but rather tried to help all americans. So my question slash revelation is: are we in the era of “we can’t help nobody, leave us alone or we’ll kill you and your family and your village”?
   Is this the whiplash politically from 8 years of america for everyone?
   • america for christians
   • america for people who have shit already
   • america for the world as long as you like us and agree with us
   • america for middle aged persons
   • america for those that don’t like to think/read all the time

   because all of those americas were the ones I heard him speaking to.
   joking with, quietly caressing, and administering an aural ether cocktail to.
   So all of this was going on in my head when I see someone in another car driving by nodding in agreement; it’s funny and I can’t be sure but it seemed as though she was nodding in time with the cadence of his speech.
   Almost instantly I realized I am a minority, most people are happy with what is going on. Now, I have always been a minority, although appearance wise it’s easy to for me to pass. But the stuff people say when they think you’re white (just white). unbelieveable. Don’t get me wrong i see the world through wicked tinted sunglasses, but i am not in charge of the welfare of 300 million. and I don’t mean welfare; I mean well fare as well faring as in general protection, which is what the government is suppossed to be in the line of work of. Not monitoring and sanitizing our moral values, wasn’t this country started by persons not wanting to answer to others for their practices and beliefs? Now with the reuping (word?) of the patriot act it seems as though you should only pay for books with cash and use private ip spoofing services for web surfing because they can link together all of your habits and you would never know. end rant!

3. NPR is the backbone of our information system.
   On a morning when normal/corporate radio news stations we’re fine tuning the over coffee banter while hocking the latest sleep mattress technology, NPR (the accussed left wing machine) was broadcasting the president’s news conference and his taking questions from reporters; about the patriot act no less. I don’t understand how people can say that NPR isn’t balanced, i mean if that was the case why wouldn’t they just ignore the PC like commercial radio and play another review of a foriegn film with too much sex and not enough violencesarcasm

so bart is an interesting place, this is what i saw sitting next to me. not sure exactly what that symbolizes except that maybe it was hot that day? i never felt an impulse to un-shoe on bart, but i am not as frequent a barter as some.

here is the most famous ryan with his nana enjoying some vittles. when i see them together it makes me happy that he can connect with someone else so thoroughly, it reminds of something my momma said-

1. well at least there was a double O.C. last night.

4. mentos has stupid commercials, what’s with the f’n birds
5. i celebrated cinco de mayo this year as much as anyone would let me, but nobody seemed excited about it
6. I wanna know how old joss stone from the gap commercial is (i know she’s not just from the Gap commercial) so i can decide whether it’s ok to feel the way i do whilst watching it

Big ups to Chris for coming through on the weezer show and the drunk walk back to the car. Much love out to Lu for driving. It was an awesome show, everything i wanted and more. could not have been a better start to a birthday weekend, except if perhaps i had eaten that day. Also much thanks to Ell my Loving and understanding and accomodating wife without whom i would have not made it into bed. oh yeah and Ryan too for being Ryan. more on the bday weekend coming soon maybe even a picture.

so I gots to see JPII in 99 he was already illing but he said mass. not all of it mind you but the good stuff kinda like the older priest in your parish who lets the new guy take care of all the standard fare but gets up for the Eucharistic prayer and wrecks shop. Same deal. but we had a particularly startling evening on friday night; just got into rome from florence and our hotel told us they we’re booked despite our reservation. we could however take a “nicer” apartment across the street. it was pouring down rain and we had zero alternatives so . . . if you know Rome you know how this ends; water doesn’t work door doesn’t lock it’s above a bar and no heat. needless to say saturday morning we were ready fo a real hotel and set off for St. Pietro’s square. we found a fabulous hotel that was only slightly more expensive than our shanti the night before, a block from the square. we woke sunday morning well rested and secure and not that broke financially (at the time the lira was doing bad against the dollar), we heard the commotion and realized mass was starting! We ran down the block with a splash of water on the face into the throng of thousands only to be slowed by these gentleman who despite their ancient costumes were carrying sub machine guns and metal detectors. I wouldn’t consider their countenance as stern, but rather somber and aware. My secular (at times) mind wanted to point out the contrast between Jesus and sub machine guns; but the standing in the seat of the Holy Roman Catholic Church has a quieting effect, even for the hyper critical Armijo abroad. The bulk of the mass was said by a non-descript priest whom i could barely hear, but the pope got on to do the big stuff and the term rapt never seemed more appropo. I understand this is a had to be there story but se la vie. afterwards Ellen and I purchased an Il Papa flag for about 50 cents american. the guy originally wanted like 4000 lira (around $2 at the time but i pointed out the flag seller 10 feet down and politely offered 1000 lira, which he accepted gladly. Now i hear you (whoever you are) saying don’t you feel bad haggling in Vatican City? To you i say No! for I had passed back into Rome like a hundred yards back and when in Rome do like the Romans! Que No?
