Today i got told to be realistic by my boss cause i rated myself outstanding. she said "do you think you really do that good of a job?" she then proceeding to read the explanation of it to me three or four times. to which i replied i understand to which she would reply "i don't think i am explaining this correctly because if i was you would not think you were outstanding". I wanted to say WOW cause i truly think people who can insult without being aware of it are a special kind of sociopath, that need to be studied and ridiculed for their ignorant cruelty.
Later on, after we went to go talk to the director of HR, my self evaluation was referred to as PIE-in-the-SKY thinking that wouldn't get anyone anywhere.

I know i am foolish for thinking i am good but why do i have to agree to not being good?
