Two cute moments today: lying in between Bobby and the baby looking at each of their faces in turn and feeling pleased as punch that these two boys are mine, mine, mine. It’s so funny cuz they so look alike.
The other moment was just a few minutes ago just before Ryan woke up. I looked up from my blog surfing and saw my lil doggy curled up on a pillow, and baby tucked into his co-sleeper so peacefully. Then he woke up slowly without his customary bellow. And that’s the best. His eyes look so introspective and thoughtful. He’s just blinking around and gazing upwards as is his style.
Sometimes it’s a bit of a game, not like I’m playing with him, but just to see how long he can go without yelling his head off before he needs to be fed/picked up/changed/burped/etc. Being a mommy is nuts.
On the one hand you’re still YOU, on another you’re a mom and someone is totally dependent not just on you taking action, but thinking constantly one step ahead to make sure everything is ready when you need it.
